About Randal and Robyn...

Hi, we’re Randal and Robyn a semi-retired couple with a passion for growing, eating, and sharing fresh produce from our own backyard.

After many years of gardening, we truly understand the joys and challenges of growing your own food. We were once those neighbours—the ones with chickens, quirky crops, and rows of thriving, varied tomatoes! Over the decades, we’ve experimented with everything from garlic and pumpkin to corn, spinach, beans, snow peas, and cucumbers. We’ve shoveled in countless loads of horse manure and mushroom compost and watered relentlessly through hot summers, only to see mixed results time and again.

Then we discovered Foodcube—a real game changer. Foodcube is a clever, self-contained wicking bed that’s self-watering, offers excellent soil conditions. In short, it creates the optimal environment for plants to flourish while reducing your workload.

That’s why we founded VeggieCube.org, our small business based in Melbourne. Our mission is to help others experience the same joy and success we’ve found. We keep our pricing simple (our prices match foodcube.com.au), we offer packaged solutions and additional services such as delivery, assembly, and setup.

Our expertise with Foodcube comes from hands-on experience—from working on the Foodcube team and assembling units in the factory, to assisting customers with installations and setting up over 50 Foodcubes across Melbourne. We know the system inside out and are here to help you avoid the common pitfalls that many new gardeners face.

Based in Albert Park (yes, we work from home!), you’ll find a Foodcube Slim complete with simple sleeper surrounds, proudly thriving in our front yard. It may not be an ideal growing spot, but it still flourishes—a living demonstration of Foodcube’s effectiveness.
